Nainital is the main hill station in Kumaon. The entire place is beautifully straddled around the central Naini Lake, so called because of it's resemblance to the human eye. The Mall Road is around the Lake, the Lake on one side and hotels on the other. A walk along the mall road can be really enjoying especially in late evenings and night. An ice cream cone can help to increase the fun. One can go for boating in the lake. The Main attractions are :

1. Boating in the lake.
2. A trek or pony ride to the China Point. From here, one can get a glimpse of the mighty Himalayas. As far as eye can see, you will realise that there are people staying at every possible height, and have some type of terrace farming.
3. Cable Car ride to Snow View Point.
4. Some local temples.

The Excursions are as follows :
1. Kurpa Tal : A visit to the tal is not necessary as such. The view of the tal with farming around provides a great view from a height.
2. Sat Tal : A bunch of 7 small lakes, hence the name.
3. Bhim-Tal : This is where Bhima (one of the five Pandavas) is supposed to have performed a penance.
4. Naukuchia Tal : This lake has nine corners, and legend say that if one can see all the nine corners from a single spot, one can attain Nirvana. if you can see
